How to Game-ify with Quality Quizzes

Do you lead with intriguing content and provide opportunities for your best prospects to find you and respond?

Do you see and hear them in a relatable way?

Watch this first video in this Vlog series to see how game-ified your brand already is, and Take my short, fun QUIZ (click here or start below)

Quizzes can be designed to serve many functions:
  • Lead Magnet: Appeals to curiosity, providing a “freebie” with insight that also educates and showcases the brand
  • Product Quiz: Tailors the offer or shopping cart to the customer’s needs and aspirations
  • Course Application or Content Selector: Rather than filling in an impersonal form, the quiz selects the best match by asking provocative questions
  • Coaching Assessment: Free or for a fee, clients engage with the brand’s proprietary insight and start or enhance the coaching journey.
  • Employment/Team Building: Personality typing quizzes don’t have to be generic. The best approach is to build your own organization’s integrity right into it.
  • Test Your Knowledge:  Like a classic “pop quiz,” test your audience’s knowledge of “how to….”  This is a great way to showcase your differentiating features and benefits.

In this video, Ellen Koronet explains how Gamification can support brands of all shapes and sizes:

Why Would you Want to Game-ify?

  1. Curiosity Attracts:  Game-ifying is a way of bringing in the other side of the conversation in a fun way.
  2. FUN is engaging, and it belongs in business. if you haven’t engaged people, then you are not going to continue to attract them and grow with them and allow them to grow with you.
  3. The “try-buy” paradigm is actually very heart centered.

When people think about a purchase, they are engaging two kinds of “brains.” On one hand, they have all the cognitive things going on: I call this the mentor mode – evaluating, looking at the prices, comparing brand A to brand B, and filling a need. This includes what it needs to look like and how big it needs to be and all those very technical kinds of things.

But in fact, what consumers or customers really respond to is an aspirational sense of what they’re looking for. What they are responding to is an underlying itch that they may not even really be aware of. This is what I call the muse mode. The muse mode is experiential and experimental. It’s nonlinear and it’s fluid. It’s exciting and it’s fun. It’s crazy and it comes with high risk. That’s what a brand really needs to appeal to.

When a brand appeals to playfulness, we open up that heart to heart communication. The brand gets to give a glimpse of its secret sauce, the passion at its own heart, and the customer gets to recognize themselves, their aspirations, their aesthetics, their motivations. Then they arrive at their own choice organically, and they’ve had some input in it. They’re not having something pushed in their face and they aren’t made to feel like an idiot if they don’t.
